Our daughter Lori Ann Patrick called from her new home in Denver to tell us that our granddaughter, Elizabeth Cory was accepted at Virginia Tech. She will graduate from high school in June.
Paul and I are making plans for Easter.
Some of our grandchildren will be visiting us on the holiday.
Unfortunately, our youngest grandson, Daniel Risk will be unable to join us for our holiday gathering, because he will be on a plane bound for California.
Spring break from college will be almost over for the young filmmaker.
Last week, our eldest grandson, Michael Risk and fiancÚ, Kayleigh Paige Fredenburg, both of Brownsburg, spent some quality time in Phoenix with his mom, Starla McHugh. The threesome enjoyed fun time in Vegas during the visit.
I have working in the yard and looking for signs of spring.
One thing that I have observed is; the deer have been very active. I counted ten hoofing their way through our front yard the other night, a mix of bucks and does of various sizes. The larger of the bucks had one sizable and, no doubt; a very tired overly taxed antler.
Deer do use their heads when they are not attempting to cross roadways, in the paths of motorists.
Then again it could be less or more during breeding time. I don't know how deer handle a rut.
I know that I try singing.
Come garden time, I will lose my fascination with them, temporarily.
Then one day, when the tall grasses grace my lovely meadow and dance in the gentle breeze; I, by chance, may encounter a tiny fawn resting in his or her shallow bed and the beauty of the deer's existence in my space will resurface. I will smile.
This I know to be true; the best things in my live are free. God is good.
Paul and I send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Donna Davidson Toland.
Thanks for last week's calls in regard to Lynch genealogy.
Have a safe and happy holiday and think of your cholesterol when you eat your kid's little Easter eggs.
