Angela E. Butt, 46, Arlington, Va., passed away at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on March 17, 2008, after battling a brain tumor.
Born Dec. 26, 1961, in Boston, she was the daughter of Albert and Carol Hanley.
She graduated from Chelmsford High School and subsequently graduated from Boston College in 1982. She was a member of the Ft. Myer Catholic Family and was employed by Potomac Analysis Corporation as an analyst supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
Her considerable talents included photography and needlework, where she was a member in good standing with the American Needlework Guild.
She contributed to society by being a very active Girl Scout leader. She shepherded a group of girls from the beginning Girl Scout Daisy level through Seniors, with some girls achieving or working on their Gold Award.
She is survived by her husband David W. Butt, Col., USAF (Ret.), a 1957 graduate of Staunton High School, two daughters, Gretchen (17) and Anna (16) who attend Washington-Lee High School, parents Albert and Carol Hanley, Chelmsford, Mass., sister Christina Messina, North Chelmsford, brother Stephen, Lebanon, N.J., and two stepdaughters, Dawn Johnson, Laguna Hills, Calif., and Shelly Teague, Lubbock, Texas.
Services will take place at 3 p.m., Friday, April 4, at Arlington National Cemetery.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 5300 N. 10th St., Arlington Va., 22205.
Visitation will take place from 5-8 p.m., Monday, at Murphy Falls Church Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad St., Falls Church, Va., 22046.
