Kenneth James Raab, 93, Center Point, died at 2:05 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2008, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital, Brazil.

Born Sept. 18, 1914, he was the son of Ira and Mary Strobel Raab.

Most of his life, he was devoted to farming. He also drove a school bus for the Clay Community School Corp. for 21 years.

He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ and a founding member of the Poland Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of the Clay County Farm Bureau for 50 years. He enjoyed being outside in his garden and joking with his friends and playing with his dogs from past years.

On Dec. 14, 1940, he married Margaret Sonnefield. Their loving marriage lasted for more than 55 years, ending with Margaret's death May 2, 1995.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret, one son, William, three brothers, Ralph, Raymond and William, and step-granddaughter, Lindsey Boring.

He is survived by one son, Richard "Dick" Raab and wife Marcia, Brazil, one daughter, Susan Crabb and husband Harold, Brazil, grandsons Jake Crabb, Brazil, and Gary Douglas Raab, Seelyville, granddaughters Lisa Fugate and husband Raymond, Brazil, Angie Raab, Brazil, and Lori Brenner and husband Chris, Plainfield, step-grandson, J.C. Bowman, Brazil, and great-granddaughters Addison Bowman, Brazil, and Hayley Fugate Smith and husband Andrew, Kentucky. He is also survived by a sister Helen Youngblood and a brother, Joe Raab and wife Gloria and numerous nieces and nephews.

At the request of the deceased, his body was cremated. A private family memorial service will be conducted by Moore Funeral Home and his ashes buried in the family plot at the Poland Chapel Cemetery.
