Clay City -- Clay City's wastewater facility is still in the works, but a few minor adjustments have slowed progress.
Clay City Councilmen Guy Dickerson said all of the work hasn't been totally OK . He said the engineer, John Wetzel, Midwestern Engineering, Loogootee, feels adjustments need to be made. Wetzel didn't make it to the last meeting, so Dickerson feels by the next meeting there will be more information. So far, Dickerson said things are going great.
"We feel like we are going to work it out," he said.
Dickerson said it is important not to rush through the process.
He said everything must be up-to-par before it is OK, with no violations. Since there is extra money from the grant, Dickerson said there are several ideas they are looking into on how to use it
The original budget the city had was $3,492,000 and the project cost $3,366,676, which left the city roughly $125,000 to continue with the project.
Several or all lift stations have been upgraded. The project was expected to be complete by the end of 2007. Dickerson said they would get progress moving, but it will take time. He said accuracy and following protocol is important.
The next City Council meeting will be the first Thursday in April, at 7 p.m.
