TERRE HAUTE -- The United Way of the Wabash Valley recently announced that board Member J. Robert Quatroche agreed to serve as the interim executive director of the United Way until a permanent candidate is chosen.
"(Quatroche) has been involved in the United Way for many years and has experience in both executive management and fundraising," United Way Board President Nick Mahurin said.
Quatroche received the Richard D. Newport award from the United Way in 2005 and 2007 for his outstanding service and contributions to the annual United Way Campaign.
Throughout his career in higher education, Quatroche has served with distinction as an administrator and faculty member at several institutions of higher education, including Indiana State University where he served as Vice President of Advancement and the Foundation.
His senior management experience encompasses institutional and university advancement, intercollegiate athletics, strategic planning, faculty collective bargaining, teaching and research, including leadership roles in regional and national higher education associations.
Most recently, Quatroche served as Senior Director of Development/Consultant for the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and Division of Education.
At the Lerner College of Medicine, Quatroche established the fundraising program as part of the Cleveland Clinic's $1.25 billion capital campaign.
Quatroched will transition into the interim executive director role immediately. The current director, Jim Bertoli, will leave the organization April 11.
