She was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Louisville, Ky., as the daughter of William and Evelyn Pfenninger Siegrist. Following graduation from the Louisville Girls High School in 1946 she attended the University of Louisville School of Music. She married Arthur Wayne Atkinson on June 23, 1951, in Louisville, Ky.
She was a member of the Louisville Girls High School Alumnae Club, Literacy Foundation and Eastern Star. She attended Carbon Methodist Church where she served as organist. In Michigan, she attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Clawson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband A. Wayne Atkinson, two sisters, Lilly Belle Siegrist and Meta Barker and one brother, William Siegrist.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Abbott and husband Larry, Terre Haute, two sons, Arthur Atkinson and wife Victoria, Bloomfield Village, Mich., and Kenneth Atkinson of Carbon, one brother, Hubert Siegrist and wife Bernice of Louisville, Ky., nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday, April 4, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday at Carbon United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Pressel officiating.
