WIC offers helpful information

Sunday, April 6, 2008

The Women, Infants and Children's Nutrition Program in Clay County provides free food and baby formula to pregnant, breastfeeding and post-delivery women and children under age 5.

WIC is not a welfare program.

It is funded by the Department of Agriculture.

Beginning April 1, new income guidelines came into effect and many families who were over the income limit may now be eligible.

WIC has a Nutritionist who answers questions and gives helpful information on nutrition-related topics.

Clinics are located in the National Guard Armory, Brazil, the Town Hall in Clay City, and the Jasonville Senior Center.

Clients may attend clinics in Clay County even if they live in another county.

WIC is an equal opportunity provider.
