Clay City blasts North Central in Tri-River Conference match-up

FARMERSBURG -- The Clay City Eels broke out the heavy bats on Tuesday night to pound Tri-River Conference opponent, 18-5.

The Eels got homeruns from Tyler Bridgewater and Ben Dickey as part of a 19-hit attack. Clay City also took advantage of eight Thunderbird errors.

Dickey went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a double and three RBI and A.J. Evans added three hits in three at-bats with a triple and two RBI. Bridgewater was 2-for-6 with a double and the four-bagger with three runs driven in and Matt Vansickle drove in a run in two hits.

Kyler Rhodes had a 3-for-5 evening with an RBI and D.J. Newton added two hits with a double.

"Obviously we hit the ball well," said coach Ryan Swearingen. "Our pitchers threw well. It was a good win for us."

Clay City (3-2 overall, 1-0 TRC) travels to White River Valley on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
