CLAY CITY -- In Tuesday's junior varsity battle between county softball foes, the Eels took a cue from Northview's varsity team and got on the board early on the way to a 4-2 victory.
Clay City jumped out front with all four of their runs in the first two innings on the way to the win.
Logan Moss smacked a pair of hits and drove home two runs while scoring one for the Eels. Stephanie Granger recorded an RBI for the Eels as well and pitcher Sloan Miller struckout five batters while allowing just three hits over five innings.
Madison Sullivan also had a hit and scored a run for the Eels.
The Knights scored their two runs as Nicole Nelson lead off the fourth inning with a bunt single and stole second. Kirsten Kimball blasted a double for an RBI and advanced to third on a passed ball. Kaylee Clark hit a sacrifice fly to score the second run.
