The West Central Indiana Economic Development District, Inc., will provide a workshop for preparation of proposals and to share contract information for fiscal year 2009 (July 1, 2008-June 30, 2009) funding for the provision of services to senior citizens, homebound individuals and those persons of all ages with medical disabilities in Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties April 29.
The workshop will take place at the Vigo County Public Library and will begin at 9 a.m.
Program funding allocations -- based on current funding -- Title III/VII of the Older Americans Act is $1,072,260.
Other program funds are available through the Social Service Block Grant (SSBG) and the Community and Home Options to Institutional Care for the Elderly and Disabled (CHOICE) through a memorandum of agreement at state capped rates. The total allocation -- based on current funding -- for SSBG services is $194,926. The total allocation for CHOICE services is $1,090,816.
All agency vendors interested in making application for funds are required to attend the workshop. Application packets will not be available before April 29. After April 29, only memorandums will be distributed.
Proposals will then be accepted until 4:30 p.m., May 30.
