Candidate offers insight to campaign

To the Editor:

I am a candidate for your school board member from District 4.

My goals as your board member are to help bring forth a valid solution to our low graduation rates and to eliminate dropping out of school as options for students facing major problems in our schools.

Another goal is to increase public participation in our board room. Our students need public participation continuously.

Now is the time to achieve these goals. Now is the time to teach all students to be all they can be at all grade levels. If returning our sixth-graders to their respective elementary schools would help our graduation rates and our dropout students, now is the time. Now is the time to reach for these goals, by motivating teachers to teach and motivating students to learn.

Now is the time for our school board to take full charge in planning and developing the education programs that our students need to survive in today's society. Our students need help from their public in order to learn in our classrooms. Students failing to graduate and dropout students have no other channels open for them to carry their problems to the school board!

Our school board should be aware of these problems before these students choose their options and should take action to solve these problems before options are chosen. Our public should be actively involved in these solutions!

Voters in District 4 -- vote for our students' welfare May 6. If you choose me as your board member, I will do my best working with other members of the new board, to address the educational problems with solutions that our students need now!
