Clay City track teams split with South Putnam and Shakamak

CLAY CITY -- The Clay City Eels earned a split in a three-way track meet on Tuesday night, scoring a 96.5 to 80 win over Shakamak with South Putnam in third with 54.5. The Eagle boys won with 92 points over the Eels' 79.5 and the Lakers 50.5.

Garry Payne was a winner in the boys' 100 meters with a time of 11.8 and Clay City won the 400 and 1,600 relays.

In the girls' event, Andrea Ladd scored wins in the 100 and 200 meters and the Eels were a winner in the 400 and 1,600 relays.

Breezy Wiley was the shot put winner with a throw of 27-4.

The Eels are at Sullivan this evening for a 5 p.m. start.
