The Clay County Cooperative Benevolence Ministry recently received a grant from the utilities district of Wester Indiana REMC in the amount of $1000. Pictured are Ruth Fischer, Executive Director or the Clay County Cooperative Benevolence Ministry and Laura Johnson representative of the UDWI REMC.

The grant will enable the Benevolence Ministry to continue assistance to working families who have been laid off, hours have been cut, sudden illness or accident and disabled who are on fixed incomes, but often are over guidelines for any other assistance.

The Clay County Cooperative Benevolence Ministry is a United Way Agency and receives funding by donations from churches, individuals, grants, civic groups and social agencies.
