Carl R. Pugh, 62, Brazil, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 3 a.m., at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, following an extended illness of cancer
He was born March 15, 1946, in Indianapolis, to Edward Elroy Pugh and Mary Jennie Thomas Pugh.
He had many friends at Meridian Towers, where he lived for the last few years. He loved to play cards and call out Bingo. He attended Victory Christian Center and several churches throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Donna LaRew Pugh, long-time companion Marybelle Cummins Underwood, two brothers Raymond Pugh and Robert Pugh and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Survivors include brother Thomas Pugh Sr. and wife Edith, Brazil, brother-in-law David LaRew and wife Gayle, Terre Haute, two step-daughters, Rosemarie Cummins, Terre Haute, and Jamie Markle and husband Paul, Terre Haute, one special grandson Dedric James Cummins, uncle Richard Pugh and wife Betty, Riley, special girlfriend Ann DeVylder and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Services will be Monday, April 28, at 3 p.m., at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, Terre Haute, with Pastor David Coverstone officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time on Monday. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
