Bernard Vincent Bussing, 73, North Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly of Brazil, passed away peacefully in his home April 24, 2008, at 2:20 a.m., after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Sept. 30, 1934, in Brazil, the son of Raymond "Si" Bussing and Marjorie Fisher Bussing.

He graduated from Brazil High School in 1952.

He worked as a truck driver most of his life. He retired in North Ft. Myers, Fla., with his wife Ruth Bussing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard "Dink" Bussing.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Bussing, daughter Cindy Bussing Horton and son-in-law Robert Horton, two grandsons, Chad and Cameron Horton, three brothers Raymond, Thomas, and David Bussing and 2 sisters Joan Bussing and Margaret Dome, two step-sons, Joe Mills and his wife Mandy, and John Mills and his wife Jill, four step-grandchildren, Sara, Derek, Jade and Jordan, along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 29, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Lawson - Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., on Monday, April 28, from 4-7:30 p.m., with a Rosary from 7:30-8 p.m.
