Sunday, April 27, 2008

Several area officials were on hand Sunday as Brazil Public Library Director Jill Scarbrough cut the ribbon on the grand opening of the library. Jason Moon Photo.
Brazil resident Tyrone Cayton's youngest daughter has never been in the Brazil Public Library.

She was too young to go when construction on the library began.

But on Sunday, Cayton and his daughter were waiting in line to get a glimpse of the revamped library.

"It's great," Cayton said. "We're going to try to get our kids in. My little girl has never been in the library."

After close to two years of construction, the library officially opened to the public this week. On Sunday, library officials celebrated the grand reopening.

"It's wonderful," Library Director Jill Scarbrough said. "I'm very pleased and delighted that everyone came out."
