Mildred Nancy Frency Elliott Edginton, 87, Deland Fla., died April 1, 2008.
Born May 13, 1920, in Greenfield, Mass., she was the daughter of Gary Sr. and Hazel French.
She was a WAC in World War II and was a Corporal when she was honorably discharged in 1946, earning her licensed Practical Nursing Degree in 1974 and worked as a nurse at the Clay County Hospital.
She was involved in the Senior Citizen Center in Brazil and was the Senior Queen in 1991. She was a May Kay Beauty Consultant for 20 years. While living in Florida, she was involved with the Red Hat Society and the Mormon Church. She was an avid animal lover and had four pets, Sassy, Leah, Buddy and Snowflake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary French Jr., sister Peggy French and daughter Donna Elliott Behrend.
She is survived by her husband Melvin Edginton, Deland, Fla., daughters Nancy Chadwick, Davis, Calif., and Deborah Kesler, West Terre Haute, and son Douglas Elliott, Chicago.
A memorial service took place April 27, at the Mormon Church, Deland, Fla., and military burial was on April 28, in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Clay County Humane Society.
