CLINTON -- North Clay's track teams split against South Vermillion on Thursday evening.
The girls' team posted a 59-50 victory while the boys fell to the Wildcats, 61-48.
Leading the way for the girls' team was Krista Stearley, who placed first in the 100 meters with a time of 13.41 and also leapt to a second place in the high jump behind teammate Tara Summers (4-6).
Leeanna Knight also had a big meet for the Knights, winning the long jump with a distance of 14-10 ahead of teammate Andrea Schultz and placing second to Heidi Hanson in the 200 meters.
Emily Sands was the 800 meter winner with a time of 3:07 and Sam Gibbons won the 100 hurdles in 18.72. Haley Rogers took second in the event.
Nicole Linton was the runner-up in the 100 meters, Alexus Bex was third in the discus, Eileen Stinnett placed third in the 3,200 and Shelby Morris was third in the 400 meters.
North Clay's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams also took first place.
In the boys' meet, Ian Heffner took the 110 hurdle win in 18.1 with Patrick Durcholz in third place. Heffner also won the 400 meters with a time of 1:06.
Ian Stewart took the top spot in both the shotput and discus for North Clay. He had a throw of 100-7 in the discus and 36-9 in the shotput.
Nic Yocom was the 1,600 winner in 5:33 with Christian Swan placing third in the 3,200.
In the 800, Damon Hyatt raced to a win in 2:16 ahead of Yocom.
Ethan Sands placed second in the high jump with a leap of 4-6 and Larry Knight was the long jump runner-up with a leap of 14-0 ½.
North Clay competes in the WIC meet today at Edgewood.
