She was born Sept. 10, 1941, in Vermillion County, the daughter of Milton M. Monce and Evelyn L. Jordan Monce.
She graduated from Brazil High School. On Nov. 17, 1961, she married Gerald D. Kidwell. He survives.
She was a teacher's assistant for 31 years in the Clay Community School Corporation, working with many children over the years, most recently in study hall at Northview High School.
The Lord had called her to teach the little children and she spent 46 years nurturing in Sunday school.
She was a member of the Berea Christian Church. She enjoyed quilting, traveling and hunting mushrooms. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Max Monce in 2006, and brother-in-law Max Kidwell.
She is survived by her husband Don Kidwell, daughter and son-in-law Dawn Ann and Chuck Fulks, Chrisney, Ind., two sons and daughters-in-law, Hank and Jennifer Kidwell, Terre Haute, and Darrin and Heather Kidwell, Brazil, six grandchildren, Andy Fulks, Ben Fulks, Sarah Fulks, Zoe Kidwell, Grace Kidwell, and Hayden Kidwell, brothers and sisters-in-law Harold Bill Monce and wife Sandy, Brazil, Milton M. Monce Jr., and wife Paula, Bowling Green, sisters and brothers-in-law Marjorie Jo Rounds and husband Julian, Brazil, Betty J. Monce and Dowell Winningham, Brazil, Bobbie I. Cook and husband Jack, Carbon, and Norma K. Monce, Brazil, also sisters-in-law Anne Monce, Joyce Kidwell and Joyce Myrick and husband Bill, many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Services will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Lawson-Miller Chapel with Pastor Tom Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., today, and prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
