The winner of the Big Four baseball tourney will have to be determined on Monday evening and will come down to Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South.
The Patriots held off West Vigo 7-6 and Northview 10-9 during Saturday's game and needs a win in tonight's game to take the title.
The Braves shut down West Vigo, 5-0 on Saturday, but lost to Northview 7-6.
The Knights took advantage of four Braves' errors during the first four innings of Saturday's nightcap to plate five early runs. Brock Lawson was the winner on the mound, allowing three runs in the seventh inning as South got within a run, but the Knights recorded the final out for the win.
Northview scored all seven of its runs in the first three innings, getting two RBI each from Curtis Peters and Nick Lancaster to take the seemingly comfortable lead.
The Braves rallied with three runs in the fifth and three runs in the seventh, but Northview held on to snap a seven-game losing streak.
Peters had three hits, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs and Zac Niehaus had a hit and scored twice. Ryne Barr had a three-hit game and reached base all 10 times that he went to the plate in two games.
Barr had three singles, doubled, walked five times and reached on an error.
In the Knights' first game of the day, there was scoring aplenty for both teams in the first two innings.
The Patriots jumped on Lancaster for eight runs in the opening two innings, but the Knights snapped an offensive drought by tallying four runs of their own.
Trailing 8-4, Northview climbed back to within a run when Keaton Robertson smacked a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, but the Braves J.T. Bailey, who shutout the Vikings, came in to close out the seventh inning.
The Knights had the winning run on base after putting a runner on via a hit batter and an error. Northview had the tying run on third base with no outs.
Bailey walked the next batter, but was able to get the first out on a pickoff. The Braves Pa†riots' hurler got the second out on an infield grounder and Bailey finished the game with a strikeout.
Robertson led the way at the plate with a double and a homerun with four RBI. Matt Nodley had a pair of hits, including a double, Barr walked four times and doubled, scoring four times and Niehaus added a double.
Northview (5-11 overall) travels to South Vermillion on Tuesday.
