CLINTON -- One Northview team returned home from Clinton with a victory on Tuesday night.
The Knights' baseball team scored a run in the seventh inning to take a 4-3 Western Indiana Conference win over the Wildcats.
The softball didn't fare quite as well as Nikki Fuqua held the Knights scoreless in a 1-0 victory for South Vermillion that kept them unbeaten in the WIC.
For the baseball team, Ryne Barr doubled and tripled in a 3-for-4 night and Keaton Robertson was also 3-for-4 with a triple for the Knights. Nick Lancaster added a double.
The Knights scored three runs in the first inning on a triple by Barr and Nick Lancaster reached via an error. Robertson singled both runners home.
Cody Crooks followed with a single and Kyle Pestoff singled the third run home.
In the softball game, Sondra Blake scored on a suicide squeeze bunt by Fuqua in the fourth inning for the game's lone run.
Northview had just two hits in the game, a single apiece by Shelby Colson and Traci Sanders.
The lack of scoring spoiled a strong pitching performance by Katie Smith who had eight strikeouts and allowed just three South Vermillion hits.
The loss drops Northview to 9-9 this season and 3-1 in the WIC.
