Happy Mother's Day to all mother's. Hope you have a wonderful day with your children close to you.

Do you ever feel like maybe you haven't always treated your mother with the highest respect she deserves? After all, she is the one who went through the pain in having you, who started you out in life, and the one who got up with you in the night.

It's been said that mothers have the most influence in their children's lives. If your mother is still with you, cherish her with all your heart and let her know how much you love her. That is the best gift that a mother can receive.

A mother's love is a lot like God's love for us. He suffered pain and rejection because of His great love for us. He even gave up his life for us. Some mothers have even done just that in birth.

If you would like to give your mother a special treat, bring her to Bee Ridge Congregational Christian Church, the friendly church with a big heart. I'm sure she would enjoy the sermon by our pastor, Jeff Bridgewater, and the traditional and praise music that we sing. We welcome you all.

Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by church at 10:30 a.m. We will be looking for you and your mother. In fact, feel free to bring all the family.

Blessings to all.

It is our sincere desire that you feel the warmth of God's spirit and that you will be spiritually encouraged and strengthened as we worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, together. Please read our church ad in today's paper for times of our services.

We have the notion that we can consecrate our gifts to God. You cannot consecrate what is not yours; there is only one thing you can consecrate to God, and that is your right to yourself. If you will give God your right to yourself, He will make a holy experiment out of you. God's experiments always succeed. Osward Chambers

Have a great week and God bless.

We want to thank those who showed up for the church work day last Saturday. We have several praise reports to mention:

Calvin Callahan is home after undergoing surgery, Lyle Monnett is out of ICU. It was good to see Janice Hiatt with us Sunday. We still want to pray for the French family, Jessica Little, Karen Shrader and Rob Walden. Also, our prayers are with Pastor Bill, who had to fly to Florida to help his parents move out of their home into an apartment. Our prayers are with them, too, for it is quite an adjustment they are making.

There are several of our brothers and sisters celebrating birthdays this month, and we want to recognize them: Ruth Brown, Brandon Pierce, Jackson Brock, Phyllis Scherb, Wilbur Trout and Rachel Gruenholz.

If you are not attending church anywhere else, we want to invite you to come be with us. We love the Lord, and we would love to share His love with you. God loves us all, but we have to open our hearts to Him, so that He can live within us. Our Sunday School for all ages is at 9:30 a.m., and our worship service is at 10:30 a.m. We do offer a childrens' worship during the 10:30 a.m. service for ages 3-7, where they learn about God and Jesus on their level. We have Sunday evening service at 6 p.m., and a Bible study and prayer service on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. We hope to see you soon.

God's goodness is truly amazing. That is what the psalmist was conveying as he wrote Psalm 139. Since we are working on memorizing Psalm 139:7-10 in the month of May, Pastor preached on those verses. God's constant presence and care of His children is unbelievable. In verses 7-9, there is no place where a Christian can go that can escape God's presence. He is everywhere. In verse 10 it says that God is always ahead to lead the way and He always has a firm grasp on us, never slipping from His protection.

Another spectacular truth is that darkness cannot keep God from seeing us. Daytime and nighttime are exactly the same to God. We are never out of His sight and care. He is always watching over us. These were the Words of truth proclaimed on Sunday and we wanted to share them with you. The points of application were as follows: Even when you think of feel that you are alone, God is always with you; Knowing that you can never escape from God should bring comfort the Christian and fear to the non-Christian; God protects and watches over His children all of the time.

We always look forward to sharing a summary of the past Sunday's message with you, the readers, because we want to encourage and challenge others to a faithful walk with God or to interest you in Him and to learn more. If you ever have questions or a response please send an email to pastor@brazilbible.org. Your feedback is appreciated.

We not only minister and teach in our Sunday School services at 10 a.m., our Worship Service at 11 a.m. or our Evening and Wednesday services at 6:30 p.m. but we also stimulate relationships through our Youth SNAC which is being held on the May 18 and also through our VBS which is being held June 8-11. Come check us out.

Remember that this Sunday is a special day in which we are reminded and encouraged to honor our mother's. Don't just show appreciation to her but give thanks to God also for giving her to you. Every good thing is truly a gift from Him.

Happy Mother's Day all you Mothers. Isn't this a wonderful time of the year for a Mother's Day holiday? It couldn't be more beautiful than it is right now. There is a saying that is so true, "May is God's apology for April".

So bring your lawn chairs, get a cold drink, and enjoy the music. It's free.

On Sunday, May 18, the church will be holding a special Charge Conference with Rev. Tom True, our district superintendent presiding. It will be during the Worship Service, which starts at 10:30 p.m.

The Administrative Board will meet on the next Monday evening, May 19, to proceed with the incorporation if the church body so votes on Sunday.

The Believers Women's Group will meet on Tuesday, May 20, for their regular monthly meeting.

Starting on Sunday, May 25, the last Sunday of each month will be designated as "Bascart" Sunday. Bring items to help fill the food basket on that Sunday. Whatever is collected will be taken to the Food Pantry.

Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, June 9, until Friday, June 13. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to make it run smoothly. We also need a lot of help. There will be a meeting on Monday evening, June 12, of all who can help. Be there at 7 p.m. with ideas, smiles, and a willingness to help.

Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. and Worship is at 10:30 a.m. We would love to see you there -- especially on Mother's Day!

Otter Creek Christian Church

Happy Mother's Day to all our Mothers.

Hello from the body of Christ at Otter Creek Christian Church. How the days fly by! Seems like only yesterday that we were writing the church article for last Saturday's paper. We can get so busy with our chores and things that we like to do that we loose sight of God's creation. We have to stop and smell the roses as we go through this life, but watch out for the thorns.

This week's verse comes from Col. 1:12-14 'Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.'

We must continually remember that no living follower of Christ has arrived. All are "on the road", healthy or unhealthy, and with more or less of a desire to experience the difference that the Spirit of Christ wants to make in their lives. Believers are people who have found forgiveness and hope in a sinful world. At their best, the people of the church are not super-spiritual. They certainly are not super-deserving. They are simply rescued people.

When they are healthy, they live with the attitude of the apostle Paul when he was inspired by God to write these letters to the different churches in the New Testament.
