The Clay County Sheriff's Department provided the following information about criminal activity within Clay County during April 5-18. Due to ongoing investigations into these incidents, victims' names will not be released at this time. To report criminal activity or provided information about one of the following incidents, contact the Clay County Sheriff's Department at 812-446-2535.

1. Saturday, April 5: (Posey) Around 7:30 p.m., Deputy Jason Frazier responded to a vandalism report at 8903 N. County Road 225 West.

2. Sunday, April 6: Shortly after 9 a.m., Deputy Jonathan Chadd responded to a burglary report at Third Generation, 705 Main St., Clay City. Officers discovered some items missing from the front entrance of the business.

3. Sunday, April 6: (Posey) Shortly after 9 p.m., Deputy/K-9 Handler Josh Clarke responded to a theft report at 7011 N. CR 425 W, Staunton. The homeowner reported that some jewelry was missing from the home for about a month.

4. Monday, April 7: (Dick Johnson) Shortly before 10 a.m., Deputy Brad Hardey responded to a vandalism report at 12551 N. CR 300 W. The homeowner reported the mailbox post was damaged and the mailbox was missing. A small black vehicle with a loud exhaust system and a high-pitched engine was reported in the area the prior evening.

5. Monday, April 7: (Van Buren) Hardey responded to a theft report at 14914 N. Murphy Ave., Carbon. It was reported that a female subject who had been allegedly coming around the home during the weekend asking for drugs had now allegedly broken into the home and taken some prescription medication.

6. Monday, April 7: (Dick Johnson) Deputy James Switzer responded to a theft report at Northview High School. It was reported that a student's wallet and cell phone was stolen.

7. Tuesday, April 8: (Jackson) Around 4:30 p.m., Deputy Brison Swearingen responded to a theft report at 1845 N. State Road 59, Brazil. A television and sound system was reported missing from a newly built home.

8. Wednesday, April 9: (Brazil) Shortly before 4 p.m., Chadd responded to a theft report at Storage Express, 1505 E. National Ave. Several storage units were broken into but owners were unable to report anything missing.

9. Wednesday, April 9: (Van Buren) Sgt. Dan Best responded to a burglary report at 2871 E. CR 1100 N. The homeowner reported their residence was broken into and a printer, DVDs, books and various other items were missing.

10. Friday, April 11: (Harrison) Hardey responded to a criminal mischief report at Clay City Family Medical, 315 S. Lankford St., Clay City.

11. Friday, April 11: (Harrison) Frazier responded to a theft report at 1641 E. CR 1275 S, Brazil. The home was broken into, but the homeowner was unable to report anything missing.

12. Friday, April 11: (Washington) Deputy Brison Swearingen responded to a theft report at 3810 N. Bowling Green/Poland Road. The homeowner left the garage door open for the utility company during the afternoon, to return home and find a 4-wheeler missing.

13. Saturday, April 12: (Sugar Ridge) Hardey responded to a criminal mischief report at 9601 N CR 300 East, Brazil.

14. Saturday, April 12: (Cass) Best responded to a burglary report at 8304 E SR 42, Poland.

15. Sunday, April 13: (Jackson) Hardey responded to a theft report at Road Ranger, 990 W SR 42, Brazil. A semi driver presented an invalid credit card to pay for $51 in fuel.

16. Sunday, April 13: (Jackson) Switzer responded to a theft report at Road Ranger, 990 W SR 42, Brazil. The driver of a tan extended cab pickup truck left without paying $31.77 in fuel.

17. Sunday, April 13: (Posey) Swearingen responded to a vandalism report at 406 E Lafayette St., Staunton. The homeowner reported hearing something hit the house, and then went outside to find several juveniles yelling profanities and saying to check the vehicle before running away.

18. Monday, April 14: (Jefferson Twn./Owen Co.) Chadd responded to a theft report at 13060 S CR 300 E, Coal City. Vehicle owner reported someone stole money from their vehicle.

19. Monday, April 14: (Van Buren) Best responded to a theft report at 11963 N 350 E, Brazil. Homeowner reported the suspect's vehicle was a white industrial type van with no windows.

20. Tuesday, April 15: (Washington) Chadd responded to a theft report at 2495 N 875 E, Brazil.

21. Wednesday, April 16: (Posey) Hardey responded to a theft report at 2715 W Turner/Sherman St., Turner.
