ELLETSVILLE -- Edgewood's Max Walton hit a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Mustangs a 5-4 walk-off win over Northview on Tuesday.
Knights' hurler Brock Lawson had kept Edgewood in check over the first five innings, allowing just a third inning run as Northview took a 4-1 advantage.
However, Walton reached on a bunt single in the sixth and Josh Collier hit his seventh homerun of the season to get the Mustangs within 4-3.
In the seventh, J.T. Finch singled, stole second and came home when Walton hit a two-out single into rightfield.
Keaton Robertson had a 3-for-4 night at the plate with an RBI, Cody Crooks had an RBI double and Drake Stevenson singled for the Knights.
The Knights left 10 runners on base in the loss that evened their WIC record at 3-3 overall and 8-12 for the year.
At Clay City, the Eels got another outstanding performance from Ryne Hayes who threw a one-hitter in a 5-2 win over Owen Valley.
Hayes struck out 13 batters for the Eels who got a home run from Matt Vansickle in the fifth inning.
Kyler Rhodes added two hits and Hayes also had two hits for the Eels.
The Eels improved to 11-5 overall and play today at Washington Catholic at 5 p.m.

Softball
Clay City's softball team went on the road to score a 10-2 win that clinched at least a tie for the Tri-River Conference title.
Tasha Collenbaugh got the pitching win and Shelby Targett had a 3-for-4 night at the plate with a double and three RBI and Emily Reed added two hits with a double and two runs driven in during the victory.
The Eels (15-4 overall, 4-1 TRC) plays at Eastern (Greene) tonight at 4:30 p.m.
