A tradition is being renewed this year in the memory of a friend.

The second annual Lindsey Boring Memorial Ride will take place on Saturday, June 7, beginning at the Goose Neck Brew at 561 E. National Ave. in Brazil.

The motorcycle ride is to honor the memory of Boring, who passed away following an accident on her motorcycle on Nov. 26, 2006 on North State Road 59.

Registration for the ride runs from 10:30 a.m. until noon, at which time all motorcycles will head out and make five stops before returning to the Goose Neck at 4:30 p.m., for a hog roast.

"We have a different route set up to take this year," Lori Dalton said. "Last year we had a total of 268 riders show up, which was more than we had hoped for and doesn't include all of the volunteers we had."

The price of registration is a minimum $10 donation, with all proceeds going to benefit area children with major medical expenses.

"We have two children, Maya Gado and Novaleigh Abel who the donations will go toward," Dalton said. "We also hope to help out other children in the area who also have major medical expenses."

Memorial patches will also be available for purchase during the ride at a cost of $5 a piece, along with T-shirts at a cost of $10. Donations may also be made out to the Lindsey Boring Memorial Ride.

We had a great turnout last year and are hoping for a bigger turnout this year," Dalton said. "We are still looking for volunteers to help out during the event."
