Billy J. Biggs, 71, Plainfield, formerly of Brazil, went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2008.
Billy was a very loving and devoted husband to his wife Norma. He considered her his best friend, faithfully taking care of her until his passing.
He was the Past Master of the Centennial Masonic Lodge No. 541, Brazil, where he was a member for more than 50 years, receiving the 50-year award of Gold.
Billy was also a longstanding member of The Order of the Easter Star West Newton Chapter No. 489, Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred Biggs.
Billy is survived by his loving wife Norma Jean Biggs, his adoring daughter Trina Kay, granddaughters Tracy Lynn Hartman and husband Eric, and Jessica Anne Hall, sister Magdalene Overpeck and lovingly adopted son David Powers and wife Celia, daughters Charity Keenean, Bobbi Mace, Miranda Cumings, Kathryn Powers, Allyson Atwood and Emily Atwood, grandsons Jackson Mace, Joseph and James Keenan and Creed Carpenter, and lovingly adopted daughter Diane S. Helmick and husband Ron, and daughters Rachel, Sarah, Melissa Helmick, granddaughters Savannah and Grace Helmick.
Visitation will take place at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Decatur Township, from 4-8 p.m., Friday, with Masonic Service taking place at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Services will take place at the Church by the Side of the Road, 10323 E. CR 100 S. (Morris Street), Avon, at 1 p.m., Saturday, where Billy and Norma have attended church since 1976.
Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery, Brazil.
