St. Vincent Clay Hospital will conduct a two-day Student Athletic Trainer workshop July 23-24.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. each day and conclude at 4:30 p.m.
The student athletic training workshop is for students entering high school and who may be interested in learning more about being a student athletic trainer and/or are interested in possibly pursuing a career in athletic training or therapy field.
The workshop will introduce those interested in attending to the world of sports medicine.
The workshop will be headed by certified and licensedathletic trainer, Nicole Gonzales, from St. Vincent Clay Hospital. No prior knowledge or experience as a student trainer is needed in order to attend the workshop.
It will be a "hands-on" workshop with lecture and lab combined. CPR training will also be provided during the event.
The workshop will take place at St. Vincent Clay Hospital and participants will receive a certificate of completion and a give-a-way at the conclusion of the workshop.
There is no cost to attend but the deadline to register is July 11 and space will be limited to 10 students.
Those interested in attending should wear comfortable clothes for labs.
