He was born Oct. 10, 1943, in Clay County, the son of Lawrence and Mildred Walker Floyd.
He attended Brazil High School.
He married Sherry Frazier Floyd on March 28, 1971.
Through the years, he worked at Fleetwood and at Lear Automotive, Greencastle, and is well known for his salvage work.
He enjoyed being a part of the "West-end kids," junkin', and he loved to fish. He also enjoyed doing yard work, working on lawn mowers, playing horse shoes and most of all, being Grandpa.
Survivors include his wife Sherry Floyd, Brazil, son Victor Floyd and wife Jamie, Brazil, daughters Darlyne "Cissy" Crawford and husband Link, Wilmington, Ohio, and Paula Brown and husband Aaron, Brazil, grandchildren Madison Floyd, Austin Floyd, Magdalenah Crawford, Amaryllis Crawford, Caledonia Crawford, Nicodemus Crawford, Levi Brown and Tailor Brown, sisters Audrey Morlan, Beverly Stephenson and Mary Stute, brothers Ralph Floyd and Eddie Floyd, several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Billy Floyd and Clarence "Vic" Floyd.
Services will take place at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil, at 1 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2008, with his son-in-law Link Crawford speaking. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
