The Clay County Community Foundation is celebrating its 10-Year Anniversary. Thanks to the generosity of fund creators and donors, the Community Foundation has more than 56 funds and has been able to grant $33,000 in Clay County. These grants have addressed a wide spectrum of needs.
Each year, the foundation disperses checks to non-profit organizations that have created an endowment. The amount of the check depends on the size of the endowment; as funds area added to the endowment, the amount of the check increases.
The CCCF is a tax-exempt public charity that allows many individuals, through gifts and bequests, to establish permanent endowment funds within one large foundation. The income from these separate funds can help a community respond to emerging problems and opportunities as well as prepare for the future. The foundation provides the conduit to connect donors with worthy organizations.
In celebration of the 10th Anniversary, the foundation is providing a matching opportunity for individuals or groups who establish a new endowment fund for a non-profit organization, a new organization or a new scholarship.
For gifts received on or before July 31, the Community Foundation will match $1 for every $2 of new contributions to any new or existing Clay County Agency Endowment Fund, up to $1,000 per agency.
For gifts received on or before December 31, the Community Foundation will match $1 for every $2 of new contributions to any new or existing Clay County Scholarship Fund, up to $3,000 per fund.
In 2007, $33,000 was awarded county wide.
Currently, the endowment is at $3 million with a goal of $5 million over the next two years.
