NOTICE: Road information by phone

Sunday, June 8, 2008

A new information by phone service at the Clay County Justice Center will help residents learn about local road conditions during emergency situations.

Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton told The Brazil Times Sunday residents would be able to learn about the condition of state and major county roads by dialing extension 8 when they call 446-2535.

"There is so much damage out there right now, we can't possibly list all the roads with problems," Heaton said. "This service will allow the public to get information about the condition of major roads in the county."

Heaton said the service would be implemented during inclement weather conditions throughout the year.

Though sheriff Heaton says they can't possibly list all the roads with problems, they've done a bang up job during this whole ordeal. Thanks Sheriff and Deputies for your hard work and long hours during the flood of 2008!
