Because of last week's heavy rains, the annual Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry was rescheduled for today, from 3-8 p.m., at Staunton Elementary School. The price is $8 for adults, and $5 for kids age 12 and under. The meal includes dessert and drink. There will be live entertainment and raffle drawings. We hope everyone will come out to enjoy this great event and support this great Fire Department.

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., with worship service at 10:30. Doug Parkey is the minister. If you need transportation to morning worship service, please call the church office at 446-3211. The bus is wheel chair equipped. Children's Church, Wee Worship and extended nursery are at 10:30 a.m. in the Educational Building. There will be no evening services this Sunday. Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer Group meets at 7 p.m.

If you want to ride in the church bus to Golden Corral for lunch on Monday, please meet at the church by 11 a.m.

On Saturday June 28, we will celebrate the 4th of July a little early with a Youth Cookout at the church.

Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 13-17, from 6-8:30 p.m., each evening. Happy Birthday greetings go out to Alan Buell.

We continue to need contributions to help pay for our church's new roof. If you would like to donate, please contact Janet Young at 448-3210.

Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. Church service begins at 10:30. David Brown is our Pastor and his wife Elaine brings the Children's Message. Glenna Simons is the pianist. We are in the beginning stages of planning a big "Homecoming Sunday" for this Fall. Watch this column for details in the coming weeks. Happy 17th Birthday to my grandson Aaron Aselage on June 19.

Remember that the Community Food Pantry is open in the church's basement the last two Wednesday afternoons of each month from 3-5 p.m. The next Food Pantry day will be next Wednesday June 18. Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome. We truly appreciate the support of many churches, civic organizations, and individuals in helping to make this needed outreach a success. A container is located in the Staunton Town Office for anyone who would like to contribute non-perishable food items.

Please remember to keep praying for everyone who is battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families. Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals, and those who have lost loved ones. Go out of your way to be kind to someone, and pray for everyone. If you have news to share, send it to me at 4954 W. Happy Holler Rd., Brazil. All news is greatly appreciated.
