A Brazil City Fire Department firefighter was injured after battling a blaze at Cooper Towers, 120 W. Jackson St., Brazil, Saturday evening.
Firefighters were dispatched to the apartment complex close to 7:30 p.m., Saturday.
BCPD officials said an trash compactor inside the complex on the first floor caught fire and a few of the nine floors were evacuated due to smoke inside the building.
No residents were injured as a result of the fire.
However, the firefighter, whose name was not disclosed, sustained minor injuries to a hand while fighting the blaze.
Officials said the fire is still under investigation.
