Corrie Diane Bird and Trent Theopolis Batson were united in marriage on May 17, 2008, at 4:30 p.m., at The White Chapel on the campus of Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute.

The Rev. Ernie Rush officiated. Music was furnished by Gary Jenkins, organist, and Amanda Gorman, vocalist.

The bride is the daughter of Janet and Mike Deakins, Brazil, Tim and Karen Gorman, Brazil, and Larry Bird, Indianapolis. She is a 1995 graduate of Northview High School and a 1999 graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She also received an Associates degree from Ivy Tech Community College in Business Administration in May 2007. She is currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Indiana State University.

The groom is the son of the late DeSheer Harris, Terre Haute. He is a 1991 graduate of Terre Haute South High School. He has an Associates degree in Business Administration from Indiana Business College. He is currently pursuing an Associates degree in Criminal Justice from Ivy Tech Community College. He is employed by Rose Hulman Institute of Technology as a Public Safety Officer.

Amanda Gorman was maid of honor. Kelie Gorman was a bridesmaid and Christian Batson was flower girl.

Eric Gresham was best man. Stacey Slaughter was a groomsman and Santana Batson was ring bearer.

Winston Killu and RJ Wood were ushers.

Lyric Gorman was guestbook attendant.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Main Dining Room at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology with Simple to Elegant providing the décor.

KT Cakes provided the three-tiered wedding cake with a different flavor for each layer.

Showtime Music provided music at the reception.

The couple took a honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii and now reside in Brazil.
