Earl Russell Blaydes, 93, Greencastle, passed away Thursday morning at the Waters, Greencastle.
He was born April 4, 1915, in Carpentersville, Ind., the son of Grover Cleveland and Clona Dickerson Blaydes.
He married Leona Claire Jenkins Sept. 25, 1935, in Paris, Ill. She preceded him in death in December 1983.
He was a self-employed dairy farmer and had also worked at DePauw University in the physical plant. He was a member of the San Dia Baptist, San Dia, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters.
Survivors include daughter Jacquline Coats and husband Lloyd, Paris, Texas, and Gwyn Sapp and husband Dan, Greencastle, son Stephen P. Blaydes Sr. and wife Sharon, Reelsville, sister Dorothy Templemen, Roachdale, eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will take place at 12:30 p.m., Monday, at the Clinton Falls Cemebery with Rev. Stephen P. Blaydes Jr. officiating.
Visitation is Monday from 10 a.m.-noon, at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, Greencastle.
