Fundraiser set up for local NCMS student

Thursday, June 26, 2008

A breakfast fundraiser has been scheduled to benefit North Clay Middle School student Marissa Barushak, who is preparing to participate in the People To People Student Ambassador program this summer.

Those interested in attending are invited to Applebee's, located at Lafayette and Ft. Harrison in Terre Haute, for the breakfast, which is scheduled for 7-9 a.m., Saturday.

Tickets are $5. The menu will consist of pancakes and bacon.

The restaurant is providing the chef and building at no additional cost and all proceeds will go to help Barushak come closer to her goal of traveling to France and England, beginning July 3.

Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 812-691-4010, 230-2995 or 230-2461.

The People To People Student Ambassador program was started by former president Dwight D. Eisenhower. It sends students across the globe to cultivate relationships and learn about different cultures.
