She was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Brazil, to Thomas R. and Mildred (Coleman) Thompson.
Mrs. Martin graduated from Bridgeton High School. She worked as a sales clerk for Merit Shoe Store in Brazil for 19 years. On Jan. 17, 1948, she married Richard E. Martin. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family as well as playing Canasta.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband Richard E. Martin.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Ronald E. and Beverly Martin, two granddaughters Stacy Danhour and husband Jerry and Tonya Dickison and husband Harry, all of Carbon, as well as three great-grandsons Brock, Jacob and Dylan and one great-granddaughter Chelsea.
Services will be at Lawson -- Miller Chapel Monday, July 7, 2008, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Howard Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m., until time of services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
