She was born March 24, 1917, in Terre Haute, as the daughter of Alexander C. and Helen Whitmarsh Hadley.
She graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1935 and began a career of more than 50 years as a beautician in the community.
She attended Epworth United Methodist Church and enjoyed Circle Circle, sewing, gardening, cooking and baking for her family and friends.
She married Virgil A. Frederick Jan. 7, 1997, in Holiday, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Harvey G. Upman, sister Marjorie Hadley and brother Frederick P. Hadley.
She is survived by her husband Virgil A. Frederick, step-son Steve Frederick and wife Connie, and Alva Frederick and wife Elizabeth, 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces Cynthia Hadley Larrison, New Port Richey, Fla., Jane Hadley Scott of New Port Richey, Fla., Billy Sue Stepp, Terre Haute, and Barbara Lou Strugar, Santee, Claif., nephews Thomas J. Upman, Geneva, Ill., and John Farley, Hanover, N.H., 24 grand-nieces and nephews and other extended family.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, with Pastor Greg Putnam officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Terre Haute.
