He was a lifelong resident of Brazil. He served his country proudly in the military service right after high school. He then went to work at Alcan until he retired.
Norman is survived by his wife Jackie McGowen, son Tony McGowen and wife Tami, grandchildren Jennifer Wells and husband Matt, Jessica Williams and husband Josh, and great-grandchildren Dawson and Derek Williams.
Private graveside services were conducted at Bee Ridge Cemetery Monday at 3 p.m., with pastors Ernie Rush, Charles Aerson and Mike Hay officiating.
Members of the United States Army and the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars provided military rites.
