John E. Kumpf, 81, Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Brazil, Cloverdale, Morocco, and Plymouth, Ind., passed away June 13, 2008.
He was born May16, 1927, in Brazil, and was the son of Leslie and Irene (O'Hair) Kumpf.
He married Mary Ann Augustin June 19, 1955, and she preceded him in death on May 31, 1978.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, Jackson Township Band (in Clay County), Lions Club and past president of the Plymouth Blueberry Festival.
He graduated from Staunton High School and Purdue University.
He was a retired salesman for Moorman Freed in Plymouth and Cloverdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers Glenn Kumpf and Max Kumpf.
Survivors include children Charlotte Kumpf, Leigh Acres, Fla., Kathy Siscoe and husband Tim, Tipp City, Ohio, Connie Gibson and husband John, Alamogordo, N.M., and Steven Kumpf, Colorado Springs, Colo., brothers Earl Kumpf and wife Mary, Toledo, Ohio, and Bill Kumpf and wife Rosemary, Brazil, grandchildren Rachel and David Siscoe and sisters-in-law Helen Kumpf and Roxie Kumpf, both of Brazil.
Memorial services will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Cloverdale United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Saturday, at the church. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.
