He was born March 15, 1929, in Poland, as the son of Clifford and Lola Nees Neese.
He graduated from Bowling Green High School.
During the Korean War, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the 7th Recon Company in Korea.
He returned to the U.S. and began a career as a petroleum truck driver for Farm Bureau Co-Op while farming part-time. He married Mary Evelyn Herbert May 10, 1951. She preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1984.
He was a member of the Fairview Christian Church. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau Credit Union, past member of the Clay County 4-H Council, Dick Johnson Township Volunteer Fire Dept., lifetime member of the VFW 1127, Indiana Farm Bureau member for more than 50 years and Clay County 4-H Program committee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Neese, infant daughter Melinda Neese, sister Evelyn Jane Cline, brothers Herschel and Ray Neese, special brother-in-law Howard "Hug" Herbert and great-granddaughter Mariah Goodwin.
He is survived by son Chuck Neese and wife Brenda, Carbon, daughters Jeanne Barr and special friend Tom Simpson, Brazil, and Teresa Stultz, Brazil, grandsons Jerod Stultz, Dallas Barr and special friend Erin Brackney, and Garrett Barr and special friend Lyndsey Rost, granddaughter Jennifer Goodwin and husband Charlie, Utah, and great-grandchildren Lilly and Noah Goodwin.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, at Moore Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. Casual dress is requested by the family.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
