Alfred "Broady" Broadstreet, 86, Center Point, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at his residence.
Born April 25, 1922, in Cloverdale, he was the son of James A. Broadstreet and Lottie Ethel (Daniels) Broadstreet.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a truck driver for Schwerman Trucking, Greencastle, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Teamsters Local Union No. 135, Faith Baptist Church, Cunot, and formerly attended the Big Walnut Baptist Chruch, Reelsville, and Palmdale Baptist, Palmdale, Fla.
He married Hazel (Haberle) Broadstreet on Dec. 21, 1968.
He was preceded in death by his parents James A. and Lottie Ethel Broadstreet, daughter Hazel Stone and son Mike Broadstreet.
Survivors include his wife Hazel Broadstreet, Center Point, daughters Loretta Jolliff and husband Ken, Greencastle, Mary Ellen Ballard, Summerville, S.C., and Jennifer Detro and husband Dake, Russellville, sons Jeff Broadstreet and wife Julia, Bloomington, Ind., Jim Broadstreet and wife Donna, Solsberry, and Ed Wick and wife Mary Ann, Billings, Mont., sister Mildred McClure, Cloverdale, 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at 2 p.m., Sunday, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Pastor Wes McClure officiating. Burial will take place at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery, Greencastle.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
