Our thanks to Dena Minor and to all the teachers, helpers, and "kitchen crew" who made Vacation Bible School such a success. We especially want to thank all the young folks for sharing their songs with us last Sunday morning. As a missions' project, over 500 food items were collected for the Staunton Food Pantry.

Happy Birthday greetings go out to David Martin. We welcome Tiffany Salin into our fellowship as she placed her membership with our congregation last Sunday.

Congratulations to Joel Whittington who placed second in high hurdles at the Jr. Nationals. We wish him continued success as he moves on in competition.

A big "thank you" goes out to everyone who helped make Vacation Bible School a big success. We hope the children all had fun, and learned some lessons that they will carry with them all through their lives.

We are planning a big "Homecoming Sunday" for this Fall. Watch this column for details in the coming weeks.

Happy Birthday wishes to my niece Julie Dawson on July 31, and to my son Ken on Aug. 1.

We are so grateful to Staunton Christian Church for collecting food items at their Vacation Bible School to help the Food Pantry. The tremendous generosity shown was truly needed and much appreciated. The next day that the Food Pantry will be open in the church basement is Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome.
