Northview High School graduates Traci Sanders and Erica Conrad culminated their high school softball careers by competing in the 2008 Indiana East/West All-Star game during the weekend.
The All-Star format included a pair of seven inning games, in which all 15 girls on each team got an opportunity to bat.
Sanders and Conrad competed for the West squad, which fell 8-1 in the first contest. Conrad was 1-for-2 with a double and drove home a run. Conrad had an 0-for-2 game with a pair of groundouts.
The second game was also an Eastern win, 2-1, despite being held to just two hits.
Sanders went 1-for-1 with another double, scored a run, walked once and stole a base. Conrad grounded out twice in her two at-bats for the East squad.
The girls' Northview coach Bethany Buell attended the game and liked what she saw from her former players.
"I was really pleased with the performance both girls gave (in the game)," said Buell. "They both played their positions well and were making good contact with the ball. Northview graduated two great young women who are leaving a great legacy with the Northview softball program."
