According to information provided by the Clay County Sheriff's Department, around 5:30 p.m., Deputy James Switzer pulled a vehicle driven by Anna Eldridge, 41, over in an area near the intersection of Lower Bloomington Road and County Road 200 North for a traffic stop.
While questioning and running a routine background check on Eldridge, Switzer learned Clay Superior Court had issued an arrest warrant for her failure to appear in a small claims proceeding.
While taking Eldridge into custody for the warrant, Switzer said officers found a small baggie with a drug-like substance in her clothing during a "pat down." The substance field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
Eldridge was transported to the Clay County Justice Center and booked in for the warrant charge of failure to appear and the additional preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
Facing a $7,000 cash bond with no 10 percent allowed, Eldridge remains in jail while awaiting formal arraignment per the court schedule.
