Marijuana found on Brazil man during booking

Sunday, August 3, 2008

John Johnson
A Brazil man learned Sunday that having marijuana in your shoe while in jail is not a good thing to do.

Clay County Justice Center personnel confirmed to The Brazil Times late Sunday evening that John Johnson, 20, would remain incarcerated longer than he originally expected.

Sentenced to serve one day in jail for a previous unrelated petty theft conviction, officials said Johnson was acting strange when he arrived Sunday afternoon.

During a routine search of his clothing as part of the booking process, jailers discovered marijuana in one of Johnson's shoes.

Although he was booked into the facility to serve his sentence, Johnson was also preliminarily charged with two more charges, one for possession of marijuana under 30 grams and the other for trafficking with an inmate.

Facing a $10,000 cash bond with no 10 percent allowed, Johnson is awaiting a formal arraignment per the court schedule.

This young man needs to join the Army and learn some discipline and not be written off as a pot head. Either join the military or go to prison son, it's your choice.

A little harsh there laidback.....not everyone who smokes green is on welfare and believe it or not, a lot of people do it not for recreational purposes, but medicinal purposes. We are just in the wrong state for that. I have to admit though...this man was an idiot...trafficking in jail is a serious offense and definetely wasn't being done for any good reasons.
