Sharon Kay Head, 69, Brazil, passed away Aug. 3, 2008, at 6:38 p.m., at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, following a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

She was born Feb. 24, 1939, in Brazil, the daughter of Lucille and Albert Gullifor.

She valued her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and a nurse. She was a strong amazing woman who lived her life to the fullest. After raising her five children, she went on to Ivy Tech Community College and graduated with a nursing degree in 1990. She was employed by Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville as an LPN for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret Dickison, Betty Lohr and Judy Wollery, great-grandson Justin Wilson and other extended family.

She is survived by husband Robert Head, children Michael Head and wife Debra, Bobbo Head and Tammi, Lisa Goodpaster and husband Steve, Eddie Head and Mary, Johnny Head and wife Pam, grandchildren April Head, Loni Head and fiancÚ Steve Budd, Seth and Shontana Head, Steve Perrine and wife Susan, Lavett Wilson and husband David, Shanette and Tarina Goodpaster, Amber Rodgers and husband Scott, Crystal Akers and husband Jay, Travis Bridgewater and wife Dee, great-grandchildren Brody Starkey and Kaydence Budd, sisters and brother Shirley and Don McCollister, Nancy Smith and Sonny, Jimmy and Pearl Gullifor, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., today, at French Funeral Home. Graveside services will take place at Clearview Cemetery with Pastor Mitch Cheetham officiating.
