Opal Marie "Hollingsworth" Blann, 73, Oaktown, formerly of Vincennes, died at 2:45 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Vincennes, as the daughter of Lee Hollingsworth and Opal "Carrico" Hollingsworth.
She was raised by her aunt and uncle William and Blanche Hoke.
She married Jack L. Blann on July 30, 1955.
She was retired from the Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was a member of the Shaker Prairie Christian Church and belonged to the Women's Quilting Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lee Hollingsworth and Opal "Carrico" Hollingsworth, her aunt and uncle William and Blanche Hoke, five sisters, three brothers and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband Jack L. Blann, Oaktown, son Phil and Peggy Blann, Oaktown, daughters Janice Karn and husband Greg, Brazil, Linda Wheeler and husband Sean, Marshall, Ill., Beth Merry, Mt. Carmel, Ill., and Vicki Simmons and husband Ray, Evansville, sister Barbara Skinner, Bicknell, brothers Joe Hollingsworth, Corydon, Ellis Hollingsworth, Indianapolis, and George Hoke, Bruceville, Ind., and grandchildren Nicholas Karn, Eric Blann and wife Elizabeth, Brian Blann, Jonathan Blann, Jared Wheeler, Nicole Wheeler, Hillary Merry and Hannah Merry.
Services will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Oaktown Chapel, with Rev. Bill Burress officiating. Burial will take place at Oaktown Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., today, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice or the Shaker Prairie Christian Church.
