He was born July 21, 1926, in Vigo County, as the son of James Hogue and Hazel Mitchell Hogue.
He served with the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the Laborers Union Local No. 204. He retired from Laborers Union Local No. 204.
On May 29, 1954, he married Jenny Hogue. She survives.
He was preceded in death by brother James Hogue, sister Dorothy, daughter Sandy Hogue and one grandson.
Survivors include his wife Jenny Hogue, son Terry Eugene Hogue and wife Denise, Seelyville, daughters Bonnie Jean McCarter and husband Mike, Terre Haute, and Melissa A. Zellers, Seelyville, brothers Bill Hogue, Seelyville, and Albert Hogue, Flagstaff, Ariz., sisters Martha Brown, Prairie Creek, Esther Chavez, California, and Virginia Hogue, California, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home, Terre Haute, with Pastor Joe Gregory officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., today, at the funeral home.
