TERRE HAUTE -- The Terre Haute Children's Choir is looking for boys and girls who love to sing and want to develop their musicianship.
Auditions for the 2008-09 season will take place Aug. 28-29.
Those interested should call 812-299-0725 to schedule a brief, private audition. Membership is open to students from 9-15-years-old.
The Terre Haute Children's Choir is under the direction of Anita Gambill, artistic director, and Kristina Waugh, assistant director.
"We believe that children can sing quality music at a high level of excellence when we give them the skills to do so," Gambill said.
"Our rehearsals are positive, upbeat, and geared toward building upon the musical experience received by children from schools and churches. Our singers who stay with the THCC for several years will be rewarded with cherished memories and a lifetime love of music."
The THCC is a non-profit organization and is funded by donations and student tuitions. Scholarships are available for students with a proven financial need.
The group rehearses and performs September through May, with rehearsals on Wednesdays at 4:30-6 p.m., at Maryland Community Church.
