Knights can't fend off Braves' season-best

TERRE HAUTE -- Northview's girls' golf team lost a dual match at Rea Park to the host Terre Haute South Braves on Tuesday night, 153 to 186.

The score was a season-best for the Braves, who appeared on the Pre-Season Honorable Mention list for the State Coaches' Poll.

Junior Sloane Engle shot a one-over-par score of 35 to earn medalist honors for the Braves, who have already won two tournaments and tied for second in a third multi-team field during the early stages of the season.

The Knights, who are now 3-2 in dual matches, were paced by Mandy Thomlinson's 43 followed by a 45 from No. 6 player, Allie Melega.

Both Olivia Oehler and Savanah Pursell shot a 49 for the Knights.

The Knights head to Hulman Links on Thursday evening for a match-up with Terre Haute North.
